Each year Transcon negotiates service contracts with steamship lines and rate agreements with airlines or other cargo providers to ensure competitive pricing and offer a wide range of service options.

The Transcon internal system and tracking system is supported by a state of the art computer and communication system providing efficient flow of shipping information. This Internet supported system enables importers and exporters to become a fully integrated partner with Transcon.


North American Management Team

Terrence P. Lynch - President

A native of Chicago, Mr. Lynch is a 27-year veteran in the shipping and freight forwarding field. Mr. Lynch began his career at Farrell Lines in Chicago working in African and Australian trade lanes. A career move took Mr. Lynch to the Norton Lily Chicago office working with European and South American carriers. In the early 80's Mr. Lynch accepted a transfer to the Norton Lily Los Angeles office where he developed intermodal programs for carriers based in Japan, Australia, China and India.

In 1985 Mr. Lynch joined the sales team at Hanjin Shipping working with many NVOCC's and freight forwarders. Mr. Lynch joined the NVOCC side of the business in 1988 where he gained further experience in marketing, business development, administration and business expansion.

Mr. Lynch is a founding partner and President of the Transcon U.S. offices and is based in Los Angeles. He holds a senior decision making, financial and managerial role in the group.

John D. H. Lee - Vice President

A native of Seoul, Korea, Mr. Lee's freight forwarding career spans 20 years in both Korea and the United States. In 1987 Mr. Lee joined Newko Shipping Ltd. in Seoul, Korea where he promoted the U.S., European and Asia Trade lanes and he dealt with a wide range of steamship lines, airlines and worldwide agents.

On his emigration to the U.S., Mr. Lee joined a Hong Kong based NVOCC and was responsible for the promotion of sales and marketing between Far East countries and the U.S. East coast. In 1991 Mr. Lee made a career move by accepting the position of New York Development Manager for another NVOCC. His direction resulted in significant sales growth in the Far East and U.S. trade lanes by securing and maintaining a loyal and profitable account base.

Mr. Lee is a founding partner and Vice President of the Transcon U.S. offices and is stationed at New York. Mr. Lee is responsible for the U.S. East Coast development and holds a senior management position in the group.

Martin G. Lynch - Vice President

Mr. Lynch joined Transcon in 1998 bringing over 16 years experience working in customer service, marketing and sales management. Mr. Lynch's responsibilities include business development throughout the Central United States and Eastern Canada. He has established strong working relationships with customers and business partners on both sides of the U.S. and across the Canadian border. Continued business developments by Mr. Lynch allowed Transcon to open their Chicago office in the summer of 1999. The Transcon Chicago office is directly responsible for several high profile accounts including Tsingtao Beer. The large volume of Tsingtao Beer to destinations throughout the U.S. are handled exclusively by the Transcon Chicago office.

Mr. Lynch is a partner of Transcon and holds the position of Vice President with responsibility for Marketing, Customer Service and the further expansion of the Central U.S. and Eastern Canadian markets.


Hong Kong and South China Management Team


Terence Lau - General Manager

A 20 year veteran in the Hong Kong shipping and freight forwarding field, Mr. Lau has been directly involved working with ocean carriers and freight forwarders in the Hong Kong, China and the United States markets. In 1987 Mr. Lau joined the Wice Freight Group Hong Kong office as a Shipping Supervisor. A career move took Mr. Lau to the Pactrans Marine Hong Kong office where he gained experience in all aspects of the business allowing him to move into various a management roles.

Mr. Lau also had the opportunity to live in Australia for two years where he gained additional shipping exposure from that market.

A founding partner of Transcon Hong Kong, Mr. Lau holds a senior role in management for the Hong Kong and Shenzhen offices where he has responsibility for the organization and development at Hong Kong and Shenzhen.

Thomas Wong, Sales Director

Mr. Wong has 20 years of experience in the shipping field with an emphasis on trade between Hong Kong, China and the U.S.A. At the start of his career, Mr. Wong worked for the well-known Taiwanese-based steamship carrier, CNC Line, where he gained expertise in all aspects of the shipping field. In 1989, Mr. Wong joined the NVOCC field as a sales representative focusing on business development between Hong Kong and the United States. In 1992, Mr. Wong took on additional responsibilities by joining another NVOCC as Sales Manager. Mr. Wong developed strategies and increased a sales team that successfully developed LCL consolidation programs and full container business to the U.S. markets.

Mr. Wong is a founding partner of Transcon Hong Kong with responsibilities for sales management of the Hong Kong and Shenzhen offices. He currently holds the position of Sales Director.
